Overall Plan
The Beautification and Urban Design (B.U.D.) Commission has 20 garden sites located on the more highly trafficked roadways in the Town of Rocky Mount.
Gardens are planned along the Route 220 corridor and several of the ramps entering the Town of Rocky Mount. Route 40 East and West will be beautified as well, with six gardens located from Route 122 to the Furnace Creek area. Plus, two additional gardens will be created on the Route 220 South ramp near the Veterans’ Memorial Park.
The gardens are referenced by number from #1 located along Route 220N and Cornell Road, to #20 at the intersection of Routes 40E and 122. The gardens vary in size and require from one to four sponsors each, depending on the location and complexity of the garden design.
The gardens installed to date are being enjoyed by local motorists as well as those traveling through the area. Especially eye-catching are the lovely Knockout Rose Bushes that bloom continuously from early spring to late fall.
